David Hockney was born on July 9 1937 in England. Hockney has a studio in Kensington and also in California. he lives in both California and Kensington. He attended the royal college of arts in London. Along with being a photographer Hockney is a painter as well as a print artist. a lot of his work is pictures that are taken of a subject from different angles and positions then formed into a collage. When the collage is finished it shows the subject through different photos to make one big photo.
to make my artwork while photographing I took a photo of a subject from different angles, different stinging positions. I took many different photos of the subject and what was around the subject. This would allow me to create a complete collage of the subject and what was around it. In photoshop I started by creating a new sheet to make my collage on. I went to file> new> 14in by 11in by 300 resolution. Then after i began to place my photos so that they created the photo i was looking for. I could bring photos from the back to the from and vice versa by by going to layer> arrange> Bring to front/ bring to back. I arranged the photos so that it clearly showed what the photo is but you could still see that it was arranged through using multiple photos.

I chose this magazine cover because I thought the background matched well with the model. I think the light color of the background wasn't too overwhelming to the model and thats why I chose the cover I did. I took photo of Kim and made a layer mask and removed the background so that it ws just the model. Then I moved it so that kim was on the magazine cover. I scaled it and did touched it up. I then added the writing by using the text tool. After I downloaded the barcode and moved it on to the photo then scaled and moved it. The font style I used was myriad pro condensed, for some of the font i used black color and the rest i used white. I used this font and color because I thought it would pop the best on the magazine cover. The set up was the back drop, the camera and the lights that surrounded the area. I created the photo by looking at past covers and emulating the poses that the models on that cover did. The strobe light was the flash that went of when you took the photo. it acted as a giant flash. You use it by connecting it to the camera then when you press the shutter release the light goes off. molding light is the light that is most flattering for the model. A soft box is the box that went around the strobe light and created a softer light on the model. A reflector is used to help direct the light on the subject. A grey card is used to make sure that the exposure is consistent throughout the photo. a radio trigger system is connected between the camera and the light. When you press the shutter release on the camera it signals the light to flash from the strobe light.
I took this image while I was on a summer trip in Monument Valley. The compositional rule in this photo is leading line. In this photo the horse’s head leads your eye through the bottom of the photo. Then when you near the top of the photo the sandstone butte then leads your eye into the horizon of the photo. When I took this photo I used my cell phone camera. Then to create the photo I used the brightening tools that are on the phone. I put this photo in the “Where the west is fun” because it is in one of the most iconic places of the west. When you are in monument valley you feel like you are transported back to wild west.
